The Required position Garments Planning is responsible for developing and executing effective production plans that ensure timely delivery, optimized resource utilization, balanced line loading, and accurate capacity forecasting. The role requires strong coordination with merchandising, production, supply chain, and IE teams to ensure smooth workflow, minimize bottlenecks, and achieve on-time shipment (OTS) performance for orders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
Develop detailed production plans and time-action calendars (T&A) based on buyer requirements, order quantity, and capacity;
Forecast machine and operator requirements in collaboration with the Industrial Engineering (IE) team;
Plan and allocate sewing line loading as per order priority and efficiency targets;
Monitor daily and weekly production output versus plan and take corrective actions where required;
2. Capacity Management
Review factory capacity and ensure orders are aligned with available resources.
Track actual vs. planned capacity utilization and adjust plans accordingly;
Identify capacity gaps and propose solutions such as overtime, subcontracting, or line balancing;
3. Coordination with Key Departments
Work closely with Merchandising to understand buyer requirements, shipment dates, and special instructions;
Coordinate with Procurement/Supply Chain for raw materials status and ensure all materials are available before production starts;
Liaise with Cutting, Sewing, Finishing, and Quality departments to ensure smooth workflow across operations;
4. Time & Action (T&A) Management
Create and manage T&A calendars for all orders.
Ensure all production stages—sample approvals, fabric in-house, trims in-house, cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing—are on track.
Escalate deviations and work with relevant teams to resolve delays.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
Maintain and update all planning-related data in ERP or planning software;
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly planning performance reports for management;
Analyze production efficiency, bottlenecks, and constraints to improve future planning accuracy;
6. Process Improvement
Implement planning best practices to enhance productivity and reduce lead time.
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Kaizen, and capacity optimization;
Recommend system enhancements for forecasting, scheduling, and line planning;
Transport/Dormitory facilities;
