Responsibilities & Context:

We are looking for a highly experienced and technically sound Pioneer to lead our product development and sample operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in knitwear, woven and lingerie construction, pattern development, and product engineering, ensuring every style meets buyer requirements and production feasibility.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor the Garment Technical team to ensure strong technical execution, accuracy, and consistency across all knitwear developments.

  • Oversee and manage the sample room operations with close coordination between design, merchandising, and production teams.

  • Provide technical direction and support to pattern makers, sample tailors, and operators during fittings and approvals.

Product Development & Technical Execution

  • Supervise all technical aspects of knitwear styles from initial concept to final bulk handover.

  • Review and interpret buyer tech packs and ensure accurate setup of specifications, patterns, and Bill of Materials (BOM).

  • Conduct risk assessments and organize style review meetings with IED and relevant teams before production.

  • Attend Pre-Production (PP) meetings to provide technical support and ensure smooth bulk transition.

  • Finalize key technical parameters such as specifications, construction, fit, and machinery requirements during all fit stages.

Pattern, Fit & Quality Management

  • Ensure accurate pattern development and correction (manual & CAD-based) for all product categories.

  • Evaluate and conduct sample fittings to meet buyer specifications and design intent.

  • Ensure all samples are made with approved materials and construction as per the latest tech packs.

  • Review and approve dummy fitting photos and USS VTC tasks per buyer/merchandising requirements.

Coordination, Documentation & Follow-Up

  • Maintain proactive communication with design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure timely submissions and approvals.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of BOM, tech packs, patterns, machine setups, Yard Yield Estimation (YYE), and SAM.

  • Collaborate with production to resolve technical or quality issues effectively.

  • Record feedback from customers and internal stakeholders to continuously improve technical performance.

Costing & Feasibility Analysis

  • Provide accurate technical inputs in cost sheets including construction methods, stitch types, and machine requirements.

  • Support merchandising in identifying cost optimization opportunities without compromising product quality.

  • Conduct feasibility and risk analysis of styles to ensure smooth sample-to-bulk conversion.

Innovation & System Implementation

  • Establish and manage the CAD system within the sample unit, ensuring efficient pattern library management.

  • Implement technical innovations and process improvements to enhance speed, accuracy, and productivity.

  • Ensure compliance with EKCPLC’s standard procedures and documentation protocols across all knitwear categories.
