∎ JOB PURPOSE
∎ We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join us as the Lead of the Safeguarding Unit. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide strategic direction and technical support to both BRAC and BRAC International by developing and implementing safeguarding policies and procedures, as well as fostering a safeguarding culture throughout the organisation. Additionally, you will also contribute to the creation of a functional complaint mechanism for staff, volunteers, and stakeholders. Through your expertise and leadership, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safeguarding of all individuals involved with our organisation.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Develop strategies and approaches to ensure effective implementation of the safeguarding aspects according to organisational requirements, aligned with vision-mission and strategic goals
∎ Lead the overall planning, management and implementation of the safeguarding activities to ensure achievement of the strategic objectives and other subset safeguarding policies are in place, updated periodically & comply with the strategic partner/donors
∎ Plan and decentralize safeguarding responsibilities and create a group of selected people from different prog/dept and enterprises as -Shorukhha Bondhu' and "Safeguarding champion" for district levels
∎ Ensure an inter-programme/department and enterprise collaboration for effective mainstreaming of safeguarding aspect and ensure that safeguarding is a joint responsibility, collective achievement
∎ Oversee Safeguarding and PSEA strategy and interventions for HCMP and maintain a close relationship with the donor community, UN agencies and PSEA network under the IASC (Inter-Agency Standing Committee) in the Humanitarian sector
∎ Plan and ensure periodic impact assessment, need assessment and identify gaps-challenges in safeguarding knowledge and practices through the MEAL and IAD mechanisms
∎ Ensure regular reports to senior management, board meetings, donors and different external and internal forums on the safeguarding progress including necessary case updates maintaining confidentiality
∎ Respond to regular partner assessment process before fund allocation initiated by UN agencies, SPA partners, and donors and coordinate with them with necessary evidence on organisational safeguarding strengths
∎ Develop a communication strategy for disseminating and roll-out safeguarding policies and CoC to all levels of staff, volunteers and stakeholders including necessary promotional materials
∎ Monitor and assess the organisation's compliance with safeguarding policies and regulations, recommend improvements or adjustments as needed
∎ Maintain regular coordination with the case investigation and case management process to ensure a 'victim-centered approach', child protection and Gender-based violence (GBV) principles
∎ Execute capacity-building initiatives for team members and create learning opportunities for further professional growth
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in Safeguarding. PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuses), Gender justice/ protection of sexual and gender-based violence and HR functions and practical experience in working with communities in any humanitarian or development projects will be an added advantage.
∎ You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal abilities and a commitment to ethical organisational practices and values.
