Job Context:

Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries is established a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery having a production capacity of 1.5 million MT per annum. The vision of this concern is to produce world-class re-rolling products and billets, which will meet the uprising demand in the local market and will also bring significant economic growth by exporting around the globe. We are seeking skilled Junior Engineers for Mill Fitting & Setting, Main Pulpit Operation, Finish Pulpit Operation, and Walking Beam Furnace Operation in its Production–RHFRM Department. The roles involve equipment setting, process monitoring and control, and coordination of production activities within the assigned operational area. The selected candidates will support safe and continuous production, maintain product quality, and minimize downtime through effective equipment handling, process control, and coordination with relevant teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure shop floor safety by adhering to HSE guidelines, departmental SOPs, and safe operating procedures, while actively participating in safety training, toolbox talks, and hazard-control activities to achieve safe and efficient mill operations through hands-on engagement, continuous monitoring, positive safety behaviour, field engagement, and the prompt identification and control of operational risks.

  • Perform Rolling Mill fitting activities, including stand, pass, guide, looper, funnel, conveyor, QTB equipment, and pinch roller changes to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.

  • Prepare and handle spare equipment, operate local control panels and remote-controlled cranes, and perform gas cutting during maintenance, cobble handling, and equipment preparation activities in accordance with safe work procedures to ensure equipment readiness and timely restoration of mill operations.

  • Ensure effective work distribution to minimize downtime and monitor RHF, Main Pulpit, and Finish Pulpit process and quality parameters to maintain continuous production and product quality.

  • Operate the mill by monitoring and controlling compression, elongation, roll diameter, groove factor, loop status, load, temperature, water flow/pressure, apron behaviour, and bar laying on the cooling bed to maintain process stability and product quality.

  • Operate the Walking Beam Furnace (WBF) by monitoring and controlling temperature, air-fuel ratio, flame conditions, billet charging and discharging, cooling systems, and furnace mechanical devices, while carrying out furnace refractory maintenance and scale cleaning to ensure consistent billet heating and reliable furnace operation.

  • Operate the cooling bed-to-bundling section by monitoring and controlling the number of bars per layer, finished product cutting length, number of layers per bundle, roller table speed, trolley synchronization, bar alignment, tying, and weighing, while carrying out bundle tagging, bent bar cutting, short bar segregation, and QTB and pinch roll setup and maintenance to ensure smooth material flow and compliance with finished product requirements.

  • Set process parameters in the OWS/HMI during operational changes according to quality, process, and production requirements to ensure accurate settings and smooth production transitions.

  • Coordinate with Pulpits, Quality Control, and Production Shift In-charge to ensure proper process control, product quality, and continuous production.

  • Monitor HMI alarms, abnormalities, and equipment conditions, promptly communicating issues to the concerned department for corrective action.

  • Perform mill fitting, crane operations, and size change activities as instructed by the Production Shift In-charge to support timely operational changes and develop skills across multiple operations.

  • Maintain accurate production records, operating data, details and logbooks to support performance analysis, traceability, and future operational improvement.
