Job Context:
∎ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization working in more than 70 countries worldwide. We deliver emergency medical care to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural or manmade disasters. MSF first worked in Bangladesh in 1992.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ • To monitor maintenance of effective aseptic techniques for health care practices at all levels.
∎ • To lead the waste collection and disposal mechanism according to national guidelines and to monitor the IPC/support staff.
∎ • To ensure that environmental standards in the facility are respected (physical distancing, mask usage, number of handwashing stations, etc) and together with the line manager & medical supervisor, to ensure that the essential requirements are available in the health structures.
∎ • To identify infection hazards and analyzing and evaluating the risk associated with these hazards with the goal of determining appropriate ways to eliminate or control them.
∎ • To maintain good communication with supporting staff, colleagues and senior management to build an effective and cohesive IPC team.
∎ • To train cleaners to ensure standard IPC is in place in all departments.
∎ • To make sure standard precautions (hand hygiene, mask/respiratory hygiene, reuse of medical devices, sharps safety, prevention/management of sharps injuries, waste management, laundry, environmental cleaning disinfection and sterilization) are in place.
∎ • To build capacity by offering training/technical support for 31 bed hospital MOH staff in terms of waste management & segregation.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet).
∎ English (intermediate) & Bangla (advanced).
Salary:
∎ • Salary according to level [7] of the internal MSF salary grid.
• Two annual leave days per month worked.
• Medical Reimbursement for employee and direct dependants.
• No relocation allowance shall be provided
• Contract length: Twelve months (12 months with 3 months probationary period)
