Experience:
Experience in the apparel industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role (GM or DGM level).
Technical Requirements:
Product Knowledge: Expert understanding of woven fabrics (Denim, Twill, Poplin, Canvas) and their shrinkage/growth properties.
Machinery Expertise: Deep knowledge of specialized woven machinery: Feed-of-the-arm, Auto-pocket welters, Eyelet buttonhole machines, and specialized pressing equipment.
Process Knowledge: Strong grip on Pre-Production (PP), Initial/Inline/Final inspections, and the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) standards of major global retailers.
The General Manager–Production will oversee the entire manufacturing ecosystem of the complex. You will be responsible for the seamless integration of cutting, sewing, finishing, and maintenance departments. Your primary goal is to ensure maximum factory capacity utilization while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence and sustainability.
Key Strategic Responsibilities:
Line Balancing for Wovens: Oversee complex line setups for woven products (e.g., 5-pocket denim, formal shirts, or lined jackets). Ensure the Technical Audit is cleared before bulk production starts.
Cutting Room Management: Monitor fabric consumption and "marker efficiency" to minimize high-cost woven fabric wastage.
Washing & Finishing Coordination: (If applicable) Closely monitor the laundry/wash plant to ensure shade consistency and hand-feel match the "Approved Buying Sample."
IE & Productivity: Lead the Industrial Engineering team to set realistic targets, reduce Non-Productive Time (NPT), and
Order Execution: Ensure the "Cut-to-Ship" ratio remains above 98.5%.
Quality Assurance: Implement a "Total Quality Management" (TQM) approach to lower the DHU (Defects per Hundred Units) in the sewing and finishing sections.
Cost Control: Manage the Cost of Making (CM). Analyze monthly variances between budgeted and actual production costs.
Operational Excellence: Implement and oversee Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
Capacity Planning: Forecast and allocate resources for multiple production lines to ensure 100% on-time delivery (OTD).
Financial Oversight: Manage the production budget, monitor Cost Per Minute (CPM), and implement aggressive cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Supply Chain Integration: Coordinate closely with Merchandising and Procurement to ensure raw materials align with the production T&A (Time & Action) calendar.
Compliance & Sustainability: Ensure the facility remains 100% compliant with international social and environmental audits (e.g., RSC, Sedex, WRAP, HIGG Index).
Technology Leadership: Lead the implementation of automated machinery and production tracking software (ERP/GSD).
