Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related degree.

Experience Requirements:
∎ 5 to 10 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Perform new product development that require knowledge and experience in both new processing technologies and product formulation.
∎ Developments will run the entire gamut from hands-on bench scale trials to commercialization of new products and the processes needed for their cost effective manufacture.
∎ Ability to integrate process knowledge & expertise into new product developments
∎ Conduct internal sensory evaluations to determine acceptability of product
∎ Creates and maintains formulations, specifications, processes, and testing procedures
∎ Conducts lab experiments and line trials within the manufacturing facilities to ensure accuracy of process and quality of product
∎ Resolve roadblocks in product development and assist with new product launches
∎ Stays current on new food processing technologies
∎ Collaborate with Marketing to develop new products that match targeted consumer preferences.

Additional Requirements:
∎ 3-5 years' experience in related food industry preferred.
∎ Excellent lab skills with the ability to make up accurate lab batches in a timely manner and without error.
∎ Experienced in sensory evaluation & taste panels.
∎ Well rated for taste acuity.
∎ Excellent investigatory skills & problem-solving skills
∎ Detail-oriented.
∎ A multi-tasker; able to work on several projects at the same time, with short turnaround times.
∎ Able to communicate with ingredient & flavor houses.
∎ Able to work with multiple departments to assist in the creation and manufacturing of new and/or revised products.
∎ Assist in new product development from concepts supplied by Marketing.
∎ Able to assist with making occasional sales calls with sales staff.
∎ Able to assist with working with outside resources for manufacturing and/or scale up on new or existing products.
