Job Responsibilities:
∎ Monitoring equipment to ensure that the kiln is running properly and safely.
∎ Operating and regulating airflow and gas flow within the kiln, allowing for equal distribution of heat across the kiln to Adjust temperatures of the kiln to meet desired results.
∎ Monitoring the progress of each firing cycle by using visual inspection methods to determine whether firing has been completed or if adjustments are to be made to continue firing.
∎ Observing kiln conditions such as temperature, humidity levels, and pressure throughout the firing cycle to ensure the safety and quality of the finished product.
∎ Cleaning kiln chambers and vents to remove bats at the end of each firing cycle.
∎ Inspecting products to ensure that they have reached the desired level of firing before removing them from the kiln.
∎ Complete production log sheets, work instructions, and other related paperwork, operate the Hoffman kiln in accordance with safety and health policies and procedures, monitor gauge readings, make adjustments when necessary.
