Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure accounting of all incomes, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity of the organization in accordance with IFRS
∎ Ensure adequate checking of all documents supporting the transactions booked in the financial statements Ensure adequate and appropriate internal controls over financial reporting
∎ Prepare monthly financial statements including commentary for the management, oversee quarterly and annual statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors
∎ Collaborate with business heads in preparation of budgets and financial forecast for each business unit
∎ Prepare financial reports as required by shareholders, board of directors and regulators
∎ Ensure compliance with local tax regulations
∎ Maintain an effective engagement with tax regulators
∎ Identify automation opportunities in finance function and engage with IT people and other functional leaders to ensure implementation of automation projects
∎ Ensure adequate physical control over assets and inventory
∎ Ensure physical existence of fixed assets and inventory by undertaking periodic physical count
∎ Ensure valuation of fixed assets and inventory in compliance with IFRS
∎ Ensure payments are made on the basis of goods and services received and authentic documents
∎ Ensure receivables are collected on time
∎ Maintain adequate internal controls over payables and receivables
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 28 years
∎ Have experience of managing a team of 10-15 persons
∎ Have a professional accounting qualification from an institution recognized in Bangladesh Have experience of working in a reputed chartered accountants’ firm in Bangladesh
∎ Have at least a first class (or equivalent) bachelor’s degree in business administration/Finance/Accounting from a reputed university
∎ Advanced knowledge in IFRS, corporate finance and local tax regulations
∎ Solid understanding of governance, risk, and control
∎ Intermediate knowledge in business strategy and local corporate laws
∎ Excellent oral and written communication skills in English for use with internal and external partners
∎ Willingness and ability to learn and experiment with new ideas and approaches
∎ Good team player and relationship builder
∎ Able to develop, motivate and lead a team
