Skills Required: Knitting
Additional Requirements:
- Age 28 to 35 years
Strong knowledge of circular knitting machines, yarn counts, knitting parameters, and fabric engineering.
In-depth knowledge of single jersey, rib, interlock, fleece, pique, jacquard, and engineered knit structures.
Sound understanding of GSM control, shrinkage, spirality, and fabric dimensional stability.
Familiar with lab testing procedures and fabric performance standards.
Ability to work under pressure and meet development deadlines.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and documentation.
Responsibilities & Context:
Develop new knit fabric qualities as per buyer requirements, fashion trends, and seasonal developments.
Conduct R&D trials on knitting machines for new structures, GSM, and compositions.
Coordinate with yarn suppliers for sourcing suitable yarns for new developments.
Work closely with the Knitting, Dyeing, and Finishing teams to ensure the desired fabric outcome.
Analyze fabric performance, shrinkage, spirality, GSM variation, and other technical parameters.
Prepare development swatches, sample yardage, and maintain proper R&D records.
Monitor and control fabric quality from the development stage to bulk production.
Provide technical support to merchandising and production teams regarding fabric feasibility.
Maintain a library of developed fabrics and technical specifications.
Keep updated knowledge on modern knitting techniques, yarn innovations, and sustainable materials.
Troubleshoot knitting-related issues during sampling and production stages.
