∎ The overall objective of the PLEASE project is to contribute to the reduction of plastic waste pollution in Cox`s Bazar through the development of a comprehensive and sustainable waste management pathway. In the long-term waste management strategy this project is designed to integrate a multifaceted systems change initiative in Cox`s Bazar and support the municipality for a robust waste management ecosystem. This will be achieved through a systematic and coherent approach by increasing the engagement of relevant stakeholders as well as the capacity and connection of the waste management value chain actors.
∎ JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for developing and implementing the research management and learning framework based on the proposed project and supporting monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL) functions as per the detailed project plan. Coordinate and administer research study associated activities. Assist in project planning, and ensure that pre-established work scope, study protocol, and regulatory requirements are followed.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.so.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Plan and coordinate the initiation of research study protocol, and the establishment of operating policies and procedures.
∎ Assit to develop descriptions of MERL activities, invite proposals from eligible local research organisations. supervise research activities, and synthesize outcome of research for project reports and/or journal manuscripts based on the project work plan.
∎ Monitor the progress of research activities; develop and maintain records of research activities, and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by the project team, technical team/project advisory committee and donor.
∎ Work with the knowledge management and learning team to develop a communication plan based on the project work plan.
∎ Collect and analyse data related to waste generation, recycling rates, and environmental impact; and use data to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement.

∎ Knowledge of programme/project cycle management and development.
∎ Knowledge of qualitative and qualitative monitoring and sampling system.
