Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Identify relevant market actors, and potential enterprises, assess end markets, potential producer groups, service providers, skills and production centers and develop service, actors and value chain maps
∎ Carry out market study /analysis to understand the market demands and supply of selected commodities, producers’ capacity, existing products, services, sales outlets, markets and value chains, in the target area
∎ Identification of challenges and bottle neck in the marketing system and taking initiative to solve the problems
∎ Facilitate self-employment (entrepreneurship), establish linkages between traders/markets actors, buyers and link producers to new market opportunities
∎ Collaborate and maintain relationships with the different sectors of HCMP, BRAC
∎ Develop and organize market linkages plan that connects the formal and/or informal bodies of local market/bazar/growth centers to vocational training graduates in refugee camps
∎ Devise and suggest various market improvement ideas to projects, and in consultation with Program leaders implement those plans to facilitate and enhance the market access of the HCMP project participants
∎ Field visit on regular basis in the respective market areas
∎ Facilitate cross learning across different project that has livelihoods development components involving some kinds of market
∎ Attend different meeting, training, workshop and other event activities
∎ Provide field report to concern authority regularly and as or when necessary
∎ Develop and maintain the database of Rohingya youths especially women who are trained on different vocational trades by the project
∎ Working closely with the trained Rohingya youths especially women in developing their business plan regarding trade-specific enterprise
∎ Provide the necessary support in the planning of the market linkage, supervision and monitoring of the activities.· Engaging and building strong relationships with community members and leaders
∎ Document field achievements, innovations, failures, and lessons learned in the aspect of market accessibility and trade to integrate into project activities and inform project strategy
∎ Ensure the timely implementation of field works as per the predefined schedule
∎ Inform and document the anomalies and the challenges carried out during the implementation phase of the program
∎ Coordinate with local authorities and ensuring continuous communication with beneficiaries, project team members and communities’ representatives regarding the implementation of works and in order to ensure flawless progress of activities
∎ Regular field visit, monitor, document and report work progress on daily and weekly basis
∎ Report possible problem or conflict with possible solutions during the activities
∎ Contribute in developing external and internal reports
∎ Any other responsibilities related to market linkage and employability and entrepreneurship management, assigned by the supervisor and senior management
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so
∎ Deputy Manager- Market Linkage will be responsible for facilitating linkages with the formal and/or informal bodies of local market/bazar/growth centers for start-up entrepreneurs within the Rohingya camp context. S/he will scope and capitalize on available and potential market opportunities, taking the lead in working with vocational training graduates to coach and mentor regarding market accessibilities. S/he will also be responsible for promoting and facilitating the trained refugee youths’ participation in business planning, cooperative works, and post-course activities in engaging/establishing market linkages activities/initiatives/micro enterprises in different sectors by providing necessary ideas, planning, technical assistance, guidance, support and follow up.
