∎ The overall objective of the PLEASE project is to contribute to the reduction of plastic waste pollution in Cox`s Bazar through the development of a comprehensive and sustainable waste management pathway. In the long-term waste management strategy this project is designed to integrate a multifaceted systems change initiative in Cox`s Bazar and support the municipality for a robust waste management ecosystem. This will be achieved through a systematic and coherent approach by increasing the engagement of relevant stakeholders as well as the capacity and connection of the waste management value chain actors.
∎ JOB PURPOSE: The Knowledge Management & Learning officer will have primary responsibility for implementing overall learning and knowledge management strategy. Also responsible for project branding and marking compliance, and developing communication materials and publications.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support in development of the knowledge management strategy and action plan and media-related outreach in coordination with the central communication team.
∎ Provide support for continuous learning and adaptation using the monitoring, evaluation, research and learning plan.
∎ Work closely with the knowledge management and communications team to develop a local communication plan for Cox's Bazar.
∎ Identify effective communication mechanisms to ensure proper brand identification at the city level and increase visibility of project work and success stories .
∎ Design, develop and implement media engagement.
∎ Keep well-informed of current initiatives in relation to information management and communication both in the public and private sectors.
∎ Support in implementing and documenting the behavior change interventions and/or campaigns and results.
∎ Support in identification and formulation of lessons learned and recommendations to be integrated into broader knowledge management efforts.
∎ Support in preparation of the knowledge sharing and learning sessions for BRAC and coordinate with the external expertise if required.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Communication and documentation.
∎ Excellent analytical skills.
∎ Excellent communications skills both in English and Bangla.
∎ Ability to make high quality presentations.Ability to work with senior government officials, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector
∎ Expertise in knowledge management, communications and social media is required.
∎ Up to date knowledge on circular economy, waste management, urban development, and social mobilization, right based approach, gender, good governance.
