∎ Ability to design and monitor the rain gauge station installed at the site.
∎ Technical supervision capacity is prior to install the rain gauge station along with its data management.
∎ Demonstrated excellent IT-based computer skills, preferably with current Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
∎ Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
∎ Excellent verbal and written skills in Bangla and English are required. Chittagongian language will be added advantage.
∎ Proven excellent organizational skills in supporting multi-cultural and multi-stakeholder processes;
∎ Strong communications skills that create strong team effort and support decision-making;
∎ Ability to think innovatively;
∎ Adherence to strict deadlines;
∎ Active-listening skills, and the ability to facilitate interactive discussions and maintain

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and nonprofit development organization that has been operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, and Sylhet Region). CB is currently operating 91 projects covering 52 Districts and 201 Upazilas focusing on eight main priorities: i) Social Welfare and Service of Love for Vulnerable Communities, ii) Ecological Conservation, Climate Justice and Sustainable Food System, iii) Humanitarian Response and Disaster Management, iv) Education, Skill Development and Employment Creation, v) Health Care, Nutrition and Education, vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples, vii) Integral Human Development and viii) Institutional Development and Sustainability.
∎ Caritas Bangladesh (CB)’s Chattogram Regional Office is looking for suitable candidates for the project of “Supporting end-to-end Landslide Early Warning and Anticipatory Action in Bangladesh (LEWS)” Project” supported by START NETWORK under their solidarity fund and also to generate a panel for future recruitment.
∎ Due to the termination of the LEWS project by BHA/USAID, the project had to be closed unexpectedly. In response to this situation, we proactively reached out to potential donors to explore the possibility of continuing project activities at least until December 31st’2025
∎ The details of the positions including job responsibilities, educational qualification and other qualities /competency required for the above position are given below as ready reference:

∎ Job Nature: Contractual/ Temporary (06 month)
∎ Job location: Project Office, Bandarban Sadar, Bangladesh.
∎ The Coordinator (LEWS) will lead and support activities pertaining to DRR, where Caritas is directly implementing. The DRR Specialist will work in close coordination with Technical Advisor – Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience of donor/ under direct supervision of Project Coordinator to implement high quality activities approved in the project.
∎ Responsible for overall management, coordination and technical supervision for implementation of DRR activities including compliance and program quality aspects with robust coaching, mentoring to the field team. H/She will be working closely with Project Team and provide accompaniment support to prepare annual and monthly plan, guide them to implement and provide all necessary training/meeting guideline and module; Will work closely with Project Team and keep close contact with PM-DRR/R (Donor) and Program Officer based out at Central and Regional office.
∎ • Prepare detail implementation plan of DRR, based on approved project documents;
∎ • Work directly under Project Coordinator to support the organization/project by providing technical guidance on DRR for high quality implementation taking into consideration and technicalities such as comprehensive community risk mapping and related preparedness measures, and rain gauge station installed etc.;
∎ • Strengthen the linkage between government and Non-Government organization (NGOs) at all the levels and community structures (Union to District).
∎ • Organize and supervise the implementation of project activities in coordination with stakeholders;
∎ • Liaison and coordinate with different stakeholders specific to DRR activities in order (Including GO-NGOs) to seek their support and to keep them updated on project progress/ activities;
∎ • Support field level all kinds of activities around DRR.
∎ • Organize and facilitate session for different level of Disaster Management, UDMC, WDMC and other Committees.
∎ • Guide, facilitate and support the team at all levels to conduct DRR activities
∎ • Organize and supervise the implementation of project activities in coordination with field staff & community and other actors
∎ • Conduct and facilitate training, workshop, seminar etc. on DRR;
∎ • Conduct field visit to assess quality of implementation and provide necessary suggestion for improvement;
∎ • keep close communication with other project of Caritas;
∎ • Support Project Coordinator to prepare the quality report of project activities;
∎ • Assist and cooperate of monitoring, research, advocacy, etc.
