Additional Requirements: - 2–4 years of experience in compliance, CSR, or sustainability within the apparel or manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of Bangladesh labour laws, international labour standards, and HRDD frameworks.
- Experience conducting social audits (e.g., SMETA, BSCI, WRAP) is highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bengali.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently to factory sites across Bangladesh.
Responsibilities & Context: Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our Dhaka office. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that our partner factories uphold the highest standards in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD). You will conduct regular audits, support remediation efforts, and report findings to both our head office and international customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Factory Audits & Assessments: Conduct regular social compliance audits of partner factories, focusing on labour rights, health & safety, working conditions, and environmental practices.
- CSR & HRDD Monitoring: Ensure factories are aligned with local labour laws, international standards (e.g., RSC Accord, SEDEX), and customer-specific codes of conduct.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed compliance reports and summaries for internal stakeholders and external clients, highlighting risks, improvements, and corrective actions.
- Corrective Action Plans (CAPs): Collaborate with factories to develop and implement CAPs, and follow up to ensure timely resolution of non-compliances.
- Training & Capacity Building: Support training initiatives for factory management and workers on compliance, ethical sourcing, and human rights.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between factories, the head office, and customers on all compliance-related matters.
- Documentation & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of audits, factory profiles, and compliance documentation.
