Formulate and develop new foam products (e.g., polyurethane, polyethylene, latex foams).Experiment with raw materials, additives, and blowing agents to optimize foam properties (density, resilience, thermal insulation, etc.).Innovate eco-friendly or fire-retardant foam technologies. Conduct physical and chemical testing on foam samples (e.g., tensile strength, compression set, cell structure).Analyze results and modify formulations accordingly. Ensure foams meet industry standards (ASTM, ISO, etc.).Work with production teams to scale lab formulas to full manufacturing processes. Troubleshoot foam production issues such as cell collapse, shrinkage, or off-ratio mixing. Recommend changes to improve process efficiency and consistency. Monitor quality parameters during production runs. Set up and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality testing. Approve batches based on compliance with specs. Maintain records of formulations, test results, and batch data. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (REACH, RoHS, etc.). Provide Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all formulations. Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and procurement departments. Provide technical support to customers or internal teams on foam performance and applications. Stay updated on new foam technologies and raw materials. Participate in industry conferences and training sessions. Continuously improve product performance and reduce production costs.
