Job Responsibilities:
∎ Organization Name: IOM (International Organization for Migration)
∎ Identify clinical equipment requirements and prepare technical specifications for procuring the items
∎ Review equipment quotations (e.g. oxygen concentrators, auto-analyzers, blood gas analyzers, infusion points,oxygen units etc.) and provide technical recommendation for procurement and support the procurement.
∎ Perform inspections on incoming clinical equipment and machinery and complete pre-acceptance checks.
∎ Develop a Biomedical Engineering Standard Procedures Manual for each facility where IOM is supplying healthcare or equipment.
∎ Lead the process of installing the equipment and the arrangements of equipment
∎ Management and maintenance of clinical equipment
∎ Training of clinical staff on using the equipment and safety precautions
∎ Maintain an inventory of equipment.
∎ Ensure acquisition of spare parts and consumable to sustain uninterrupted service delivery. Prepare and submit utilization report to the supervisor and share to Logistic/Procurement Unit for the record.
∎ Investigate equipment failure and safety-related incidents.
∎ Manage the team of Oxygen Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Technicians:
∎ Ensure the Oxygen O&M Technicians perform daily, weekly, and monthly
∎ monitoring to ensure safe usage of all oxygen-related components/equipment procured
∎ by IOM.
∎ Ensure inspection checklists are submitted on the prescribed schedule and
∎ review.
∎ Review and approve maintenance plans and review completed works and reports
∎ Perform weekly and monthly inspections of each facility to ensure safe use of all
∎ oxygen-related components/equipment procured by IOM.
∎ Proactively plan and undertake routine preventive maintenance of all oxygen-
∎ related components/equipment at all sites where oxygen-related components/equipment
∎ procured by IOM are being used or stored.
∎ Provide training and technical guidance to Oxygen O&M Technicians
∎ Ensure that oxygen-related equipment is kept in good working order at all sites,
∎ ensuring that defective valves are replaced and equipment is kept free of debris and dust.

∎ Ensure that fire control measures are in place on all sites and are being followed by healthcare centre staff. Ensure that guidance is in place for responding to fires at each site. Provide training to Oxygen O&M Technicians and to healthcare centre staff on fire safety and response.
∎ Coordinate with healthcare staff at relevant facilities and with the Site Development Operations Officer to identify, plan and implement required works.
∎ Receives requests for repairs and generates work orders specifying the appropriate technical data.
∎ At the request of the Line Manager, participate in staff development and training processes
∎ Ensure that an inventory of tools and supplies is maintained at each facility, stored in an organized manner.
∎ Perform such other related duties as may be assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum three (3) years professional experience, including experience working with oxygen cylinders, concentrators, generators, and/or piped networks.
∎ Knowledge of setting up, operating and minor maintenance of medical equipment, especially related to supply of oxygen.
∎ Knowledge and experiences on Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems
∎ Knowledge and experience of fire safety in relation to compressed gas cylinders and/or gas networks
∎ Knowledge in preventative maintenance and repairs on oil-injected air compressors, refrigerant dryers and filters is an advantage
∎ Knowledge of Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) technology is an advantage
∎ Experience working with basic refrigeration systems (e.g., understanding refrigeration cycle, Freon, compressors, evaporators, condensers, etc.) and electrical systems (e.g., understanding flow, wiring, outlets, etc.) is an advantage
∎ Minimum one (1) year experience of supervising a team
∎ Ability to work effectively under pressure in hardship situations and harmoniously within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
Salary:
∎ Salary Monthly BDT 173,693.00
