Job Context: Transport & Logistics

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

Fleet Maintenance and Readiness

  • Oversee all scheduled and breakdown maintenance for the company's entire transport fleet, ensuring adherence to established maintenance schedules.
  • Manage troubleshooting and execute timely repairs to meet operational demands and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure the availability of all necessary tools, instruments, and equipment required for efficient transport operations and maintenance activities.
  • Supervise and manage the operations of all company vehicles and heavy machinery, including Trucks, Pay loaders, Excavators, and Mobile Cranes.
  • Monitor and ensure the timely renewal of vehicle documentation, including fitness certificates, insurance policies, and registration papers.

Operations, Planning, and Optimization

  • Plan, schedule, and monitor daily transport operations for both goods delivery (logistics) and employee movement.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously monitor the overall transport plan to maximize efficiency and service delivery.
  • Optimize fuel consumption and minimize operational costs through rigorous control, detailed reporting, and analysis of fleet performance.
  • Verify and audit fuel bills and related expenditures for accuracy and cost control.

Team Management and Supervision

  • Supervise all drivers and helpers, including creating and managing duty rosters.
  • Monitor driver activities and provide clear, continuous guidance and training to ensure safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Uphold and monitor employee discipline within the transport team and evaluate the performance of all drivers and helpers time to time.
