Responsibilities & Context: Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Supply Chain (Civil Procurement) is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for civil and construction-related materials. This role ensures timely sourcing, vendor evaluation, compliance adherence, and coordination with project teams to support smooth project execution. The position requires strong market knowledge, negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain documentation accuracy while ensuring materials meet safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1.Sourcing & Procurement
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for civil and construction materials.
- Conduct market research to ensure competitive pricing and availability.
- Prepare RFQs, analyze quotations, and negotiate terms with suppliers.
- Ensure timely procurement to support project timelines.
2.Purchase Order & Documentation
- Prepare and process purchase orders with accuracy.
- Maintain all procurement documentation as per company policy.
- Track delivery schedules and ensure on-time material receipt.
- Ensure data accuracy in ERP/ procurement systems.
3.Vendor Management
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor vendor performance (quality, delivery, compliance).
- Address issues related to quality, delay, or service failures.
- Conduct routine vendor evaluations and audits.
4.Coordination & Project Support
- Work closely with project teams to understand material requirements.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of materials for ongoing projects.
- Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, and finance for GRN, billing, and payment.
- Support planning and forecasting of civil material requirements.
