Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context
We are looking for a competent and experienced Assistant Manager / Manager – Mechanical Engineering to oversee mechanical engineering operations, HVAC systems, preventive maintenance, and industrial engineering activities. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth, safe, and reliable operation of mechanical utilities and equipment, particularly within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and monitor all mechanical maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

• Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance plans for machinery, equipment, and utility systems.

• Manage the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and development of HVAC systems.

• Ensure proper maintenance and efficient operation of mechanical equipment and industrial utilities.

• Identify equipment problems, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

• Prepare and maintain maintenance schedules, checklists, SOPs, work orders, and relevant technical documentation.

• Coordinate with production, quality, engineering, and other departments to ensure smooth plant operations.

• Supervise maintenance teams, technicians, contractors, and service providers.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, engineering standards, and applicable pharmaceutical industry requirements.

• Monitor maintenance costs, spare parts, manpower, and other engineering resources effectively.

• Evaluate equipment performance and recommend modifications, upgrades, or replacement where necessary.

• Maintain records of breakdowns, preventive maintenance, equipment history, and maintenance performance.

• Support installation, commissioning, validation, and qualification of new mechanical/HVAC equipment where required.

• Ensure proper housekeeping, workplace safety, and compliance with environmental and occupational health requirements.

• Prepare maintenance reports and present engineering performance updates to management.

Perform any other engineering and maintenance-related responsibilities assigned by management.
