Educational Requirements:
∎ Ideally Graduation from relevant discipline. This could be in,
∎ -Commerce / Textile
∎ -Textiles/Fashion Designing
∎ -Apparel manufacturing.
∎ The above are desirable but not essential.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 5 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Liaising closely with own design and sales team in the UK on all technical and aesthetic aspects of samples
∎ Identifying designer's requirements and developing garment as per their concept
∎ Responsible for sample room planning and operation. Must be able to prioritize and plan sample making programme and follow up on sample delivery.
∎ Ensure efficient sample production and quality, reducing sample processing lead time and good understanding on buyer's sample reviewing process.
∎ Ensure samples are feasible for bulk production, with regards to cost and productivity.
∎ Keeping track of all the sample yarn developments
∎ Visiting factories/sample room every week for spec review meeting and 1st piece sample
∎ Must be able to identify new trends in the market, highlighting any new yarns.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum 5 yrs in flat knit design and production.
∎ Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in English. Must be able to communicate with people at all levels, factory designers, UK designers and UK sales team.
∎ Should be proficient in email, word and excel, as records and charts need to be kept.
∎ Should be capable of using own initiative and managing the sampling process.
∎ Whilst the above skills are desirable, consideration will be given to candidates who possess some of the required skills in conjunction with experience.
