Context: In a fast-paced sweater manufacturing environment, Assistant Manager Merchandiser oversees production processes, ensuring quality standards and client satisfaction. With a decade of industry experience, they navigate complex buyer relationships, utilizing strong technical skills and computer proficiency to manage multiple priorities. Operating under pressure, they proactively solve problems, driving continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Head of Merchandising in developing and executing merchandising strategies to achieve sales targets, maximize profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate market insights, customer feedback, and business objectives into actionable merchandising plans and product assortments.
• Assist in product development activities, including trend analysis, concept ideation, sample review, and product testing, ensuring alignment with brand identity and customer needs.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely production and delivery of merchandise.
• Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and product lifecycle stages to identify opportunities for optimizing assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.
• Conduct regular market research, competitor analysis, and consumer surveys to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for innovation.
• Prepare merchandising presentations, sales forecasts, and performance reports for internal stakeholders and senior management, highlighting key insights, trends, and recommendations.
• Monitor and track merchandising KPIs, including sell-through rates, margin analysis, and inventory turnover, and take proactive measures to address any performance gaps or issues.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices in merchandising, and share relevant insights and knowledge with the team to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior merchandising staff, helping them develop their skills, grow their capabilities, and contribute to the overall success of the department.
