Responsibilities & Context:
  • Analyze consumption trends and forecast demand for raw materials (e.g., buttons, zippers, sewing threads, items.

  • Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers/vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.

  • Prepare purchase orders (POs), RFQs (Request for Quotations), and RFPs (Request for Proposals).

  • Monitor and manage procurement budgets and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Plan and manage the movement of materials/products from suppliers to internal departments or customers.

  • Ensure the availability of raw materials, components, and services to meet production or operational demands.

  • Coordinate logistics, shipping, and delivery schedules to avoid delays.

  • Monitor stock levels and initiate procurement to prevent shortages or excess inventory.

  • Work closely with inventory control teams to manage storage, warehousing, and distribution.

  • Analyze inventory turnover and recommend improvements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

  • Evaluate supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, compliance).

  • Act as a liaison between internal departments (production, finance, etc.) and suppliers.

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies and legal/regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, contracts, and supplier databases.

  • Assist in audits and ensure documentation is readily available.

  • Track procurement metrics (cost savings, supplier performance, delivery timelines).

  • Provide regular reports to management on supply chain performance, challenges, and improvements.

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, pricing, and potential supply risks.

  • Identify inefficiencies in the procurement and supply chain process and suggest improvements.

  • Support implementation of ERP/SAP or other procurement and inventory management systems.

  • Participate in lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
