Organizational Policies & Safeguarding:

  • Zero Tolerance Policy: SHED maintains a strict Zero Tolerance Policy regarding Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), fraud, corruption, and child abuse.

  • Ineligibility Criteria: Candidates with a history of substance abuse (smoking or hard drinking) or any previous allegations or convictions related to PSEA are ineligible for this position.

Responsibilities & Context:

Society for Health Extension and Development (SHED) is a national non-governmental organization that has been working in Bangladesh since 1989. SHED is currently implementing various projects in Health, Nutrition, WASH, Food Security, Protection, and DRR with support from UN agencies and international partners.

In partnership with Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, SHED is seeking a qualified and dynamic professional for its project: "Inclusive Cities for Nutrition (IC4N) – 18-Month Cost Extension."

Location: Cox’s Bazar Pourashava (Municipality)

Contract Duration: 18 Months (Initial contract for 1 year, extendable)

Job Purpose:To maintain a robust financial, administrative, and procurement system that ensures value for money and a strong internal control mechanism, facilitating smooth and timely program delivery

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Budget Oversight: Manage the project budget in strict accordance with Helvetas and SHED financial guidelines.

  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure all financial transactions meet internal and external audit requirements, including compliance with government VAT, TAX, and other statutory fees.

  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports for annual reviews and donor submissions.

Procurement & Asset Management

  • Supply Chain: Facilitate the procurement process for IEC materials, digital content, and agricultural inputs following the SHED Procurement Policy.

  • Value for Money: Maintain daily stock/inventory levels for regular project activities and ensure transparency in all purchasing.

Human Resources & Administration:

  • Personnel Management: Maintain and update personnel files in compliance with the SHED HR Manual.

  • Payroll & Benefits: Manage staff payroll, administrative logistics, and the issuance of salary certificates.

  • Attendance & Monitoring: Track regular staff attendance and daily movement logs for the field team.

  • Capacity Building: Conduct orientation for team members on SHED’s Finance, HR, and Procurement policies to ensure organizational alignment.
