Educational Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Carry out day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping for BRAC HCMP projects and maintain accurate financial records/ documentation
∎ Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
∎ Verify invoices and prepares payment vouchers
∎ Analyse financial information and summarise financial status
∎ Control and monitor expenditures in relation to the project budget
∎ Ensure correct and timely payments to vendors/ beneficiaries
∎ Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
∎ Prepare accurate weekly/ monthly financial reports including accounting reports and present their results
∎ Manage VAT and Tax for HCMP
∎ Ensure taxation compliance as per government rules and regulations
∎ Execute any other task assigned by supervisor/ management
∎ Need to visit field office occasionally
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 2 years' relevant experience is required
∎ Experience in Finance and Accounting especially in NGO/ INGO is preferred
∎ Experience in managing VAT and Tax
∎ Commitment to an understanding of BRAC core values and principles
∎ Demonstrated competency to work independently with minimum supervision
∎ Have effective acquaintance with people management, data entry management
∎ Have excellent reporting skill
∎ Willingness to live and work in difficult and rapidly changing conditions
∎ Ability and willingness to travel and stay in the field
∎ Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse organisation
∎ Have excellent knowledge on Office Applications and Excel
∎ Excellent language skills both English and Bengali
