Job Context

RDRS is a leading national development organization in Bangladesh that works for the poor and underprivileged communities across the country, with a focus on southwest Bangladesh. Established in 1972 as the field programme of the Lutheran World Federation, Geneva, RDRS became a national development organization in 1997 under the Trust Act. RDRS provides development services to over 3 million households in 32 districts through its five major programme priorities - Skills, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Social Empowerment, Agriculture, Food Security & Climate Change, Microfinance, and Emergency and Humanitarian Response.

Recently, RDRS Bangladesh has been seeking applications for the position of Technical Officer under BD Rural WASH for HCD (Human Capital Development) Project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure construction works are carried out according to the approved project budget and design specifications (toilet and water connection facilities).

  • Maintain regular communication and coordination with Local Entrepreneurs (LEs).

  • Ensure installation of toilets and water connections through Local Entrepreneurs (LEs) based on beneficiaries’ requirements and approved catalog specifications.

  • Provide No Objection Certificates (NOCs) upon successful completion of work to facilitate loan disbursement.

  • Motivate and encourage selected beneficiaries to undertake and complete the assigned interventions.

  • Be accountable to the Branch/Regional Manager for day-to-day operational activities.

  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with the concerned officials of PKSF.

  • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and other reports as required by PKSF and the organization.

  • Follow up and provide guidance on orientations conducted by volunteers at the group level.

  • Remain accountable to the Project Focal Person for overall project implementation and performance.

  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the management from time to time.

  • Comply with organizational policies, rules, and regulations and refrain from any activities that may harm the reputation of the organization.

  • Must possess a personal motorcycle with a valid driving license and a personal mobile phone.
