Experience:
Master's degree in Statistics/Development Studies/Economics/Sociology/Social Work/Public Health/Environmental Science/Disaster Management/Geography and Environment
Training in monitoring & evaluation, ESS, or data management will be an advantage.
Age may be relaxed for highly deserving candidates
Experience in UNICEF or other UN-funded programmes
Experience with digital data collection platforms (KoBo, ODK, SurveyCTO or similar)
Experience in Environmental and Social Standards (ESS), safeguarding or compliance monitoring is highly desirable
Proficiency in coordinating training across remote areas within the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Sylhet, or Mymensingh divisions.
Job Summary
The Monitoring and ESS Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and ensuring the technical quality of all training, orientation, and capacity-building initiatives implemented under the project. The position supports the effective delivery of project outcomes by strengthening the capacity of the social service workforce, establishing and maintaining a pool of Master Trainers, and promoting disability-inclusive child protection and case management practices. The role also contributes to raising community awareness on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS), and environmental protection while enhancing the life skills, protection, and well-being of children and adolescents with disabilities through effective monitoring, compliance, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
A. Major Task
Develop and implement project monitoring plans.
Monitor project progress against indicators and targets.
Maintain project MIS and databases.
Verify beneficiary data and results.
Conduct routine field monitoring visits.
Prepare monitoring reports and dashboards.
Support baseline, endline, and assessments.
Monitor compliance with UNICEF Environmental and Social Standards (ESS)
Monitor implementation of safeguarding, PSEA, and AAP commitments
Track complaints and feedback mechanisms.
Ensure data quality and data verification.
Support donor monitoring missions.
Maintain indicator tracking tables.
Analyze program data for adaptive management.
Document lessons learned and best practices.
Coordinate monitoring with UNICEF and RDRS M&E Unit
B. Monitoring, Documentation & Learning
Collaborate with the monitoring persons to track key training indicators (pre-/post-test data, knowledge application scores, and numbers trained).
Assist in conducting project needs assessments, Baseline & Resource mapping, and endline evaluations.
Document comprehensive training completion reports, capturing field-level success stories, lessons learned, and best practices to feed into quarterly donor reporting for UNICEF.
Support the coordination of major project advocacy events and national day observations (e.g., World Environment Day, International Day of Persons with Disabilities).
