  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in the camps, a good understanding of camp context and its dynamics, basic knowledge on humanitarian principles and code of conduct, and experience working with WFP would be an asset.

Responsibilities & Context:

Grade: G6

Type of contract: Fixed Term

Duration: 12 Months

JOB PURPOSE: Under the direct supervision of Head of General Food Assistance (GFA) Programme, the incumbent will support the implementation of the GFA program at BC/camp level and will be responsible for overall coordination and liaison the ARRC (BC)/ CIC’s, UNHCR/IOM, site management agency, other actors and cooperating partners in his/her assigned catchment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Representation & Coordination: Represent WFP/GFA as Catchment Focal, leading the Food Security Sector and coordinating with government (CiC), SMS agencies (UNHCR/IOM), and protection actors to align camp-level operations.
  • Relocation & Rapid Response Leadership: Lead relocation activities and Rapid Response efforts, ensuring displaced families receive immediate assistance (HEBs/cooked meals) in coordination with site management and partners.
  • Operational Planning & Entitlement Management: Oversee monthly mobilization and distribution plans to ensure all beneficiaries receive their full monthly entitlements accurately and on time.
  • Partner Technical Support: Provide regular guidance to Cooperating Partners (CPs) on SCOPE, Blockchain (BB), and GFA SOPs to ensure activities align with WFP policies and established goals.
  • Financial Oversight & Mission Readiness: Support CPs with financial planning, forecasting, and programmatic invoice reviews, ensuring the operation is fully prepared for internal and external mission visits.
  • Data Analysis & Quality Control: Monitor and analyze GFA databases to identify discrepancies, sharing findings with CPs to improve data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Market & Retail Infrastructure Support: Support the scale-up of new market initiatives and monitoring retail/wholesale food price variations on a regular basis.
  • Protection, Inclusion & Referrals: Provide support for new arrivals and protection cases, utilizing referral pathways and managing the inclusion/exclusion of families in the food assistance program.
  • Monitoring & Corrective Action: Follow up on monitoring findings with partners and stakeholders at the camp level to implement corrective measures and ensure programme quality.
  • Internal Liaison & Reporting: Coordinate with internal support units (VAM, Retail, Engineering, etc.) and report all aspects of programme implementation and quality to the Head of GFA.
  • Team Support & Field Oversight: Provide daily support to Program Assistants and field teams to ensure GFA activities are performed according to operational guidelines and WFP procedures.
  • Perform any other duty, as required, related to GFA and the other programme activities.
