Job Context:
∎ JOB PURPOSE: To proactively scan the horizon in technology for development domain, exploring possibilities and potentials by harnessing the power of technology in order to promote technological innovation to ensure improvement of service delivery model in BRAC core programmes. Lead and explore BRAC Technology T4D partnership development with external Tech companies and development agencies and other BRAC programmes in order to bring new ideas, technologies in digitization, cloud transformation and initiating Managed Services to improve effectiveness and efficiency in BRAC`s programmatic operations.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide guidance and leading the R&D exploration on data driven decision making for BRAC programmes
∎ Provide strategic leadership and guidance on Technology for development product interest generation and playing key role in designing Digital transformation strategy for BRAC programmes
∎ Provide guidance and leading the exploration of Big Data potentials for BRAC in order to realize BRAC's data analytics potentials
∎ Head the development of innovation proposal to introduce new technologies i.e., IoT, AI, Cloud computing and PoC of new digital services by partnering with external tech companies, startups and institutions
∎ Lead the designing of early prototype (proof of concept) and work on impact analysis of tech pilots
∎ Work on Cost effective pilot design, and planning of scale of tech pilots
∎ Proactively identify potential new or enhanced business model by putting data driven decision making as a practice in the center of the process
∎ Provide guidance on domain technology and trends to prototype unit, system maintenance unit and manage service unit
∎ Help prototype team design the technology solution
∎ Lead the data scientist and BI analyst for innovating tools and technology for T4D domain
∎ Provide with Strategic guidance on process and practices inside technology division for improving efficiency
∎ M4D/ICT4D Product piloting
∎ Lead and design Tech Hackathon programme (BRACathon) in order to engage tech youths in resolving development challenges by emerging technology solution.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Must be skilled and experienced in designing technology solutions and pilots
∎ Must have programming knowledge in Java, C++, C#, Ruby, R, Python
∎ Must be familiar with server-side technologies and application servers
∎ Must have knowledge and skills on NoSQL, Hadoop, map-reduce concepts
∎ Must have knowledge on Information technology global trends and practices
∎ Clear understanding of Data science and big data domain
∎ Must have in-depth knowledge in software design, software development life cycle
∎ Must be familiar with Agile methodologies
∎ Must have clear understanding of cloud technology
∎ Must have knowledge on trends of mobile money and digital financial services
∎ Must have clear understanding in Information security and data safety
∎ Must have knowledge on using tools for managing tasks and priorities
∎ Must have knowledge on Data mining algorithm and tools
∎ Must have knowledge in semantic web, semantic data management, ontology, and knowledge management
∎ Must have knowledge and experience in sensor technology such as microcontroller-based sensors
∎ Must have in-depth knowledge in software design, software development life cycle
∎ Must have experience in managing large-scale enterprise applications
∎ Must have demonstrable R&D background on technology solution designing and related areas
∎ Must have experience in creating impact reports on technology pilots or implementation
∎ Must be highly enthusiastic about exploring potential technology.
∎ 5 years of working experience in the relevant field will be preferred.
