• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in steel fixing or construction is beneficial.

• Experience:
• 7-10 years of experience in steel fixing, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in large-scale projects (e.g., high-rise buildings, commercial, or industrial projects) is essential.
• Skills:
• Expertise in reading blueprints, structural drawings, and rebar schedules.
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete structures and proficiency in cutting, bending, and tying rebar.
• Ability to manage teams, plan tasks, and coordinate rebar installation for foundations, columns, slabs, and beams.
• Familiarity with steel fixing tools (e.g., rebar benders, cutters, tying machines).
• Certifications:
• OSHA/NEBOSH safety certifications are often required for compliance with safety standards.
• Any certification in steel fixing or construction management is advantageous.
• Health and Safety:
• Strong understanding of safety protocols for working with heavy steel materials and tools.
• Knowledge of PPE usage, risk assessments, and fall protection.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of rebar and related materials.
• Physical Requirements:
• Physical stamina and strength to supervise and assist in steel fixing tasks.
• Ability to work at heights and in challenging environments.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team of steel fixers.
• Problem-solving ability to handle issues on-site and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Attention to detail to ensure that steel is installed correctly and according to design specifications.
