Additional Requirements:
  • Age At least 25 years
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in marine engine maintenance and ship machinery.

  • Sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, pumps, and preventive maintenance.

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.

  • Willingness to travel frequently and conduct vessel inspections at different locations.



Responsibilities & Context:
  • Ensure proper maintenance, troubleshooting, and smooth operation of main engines, auxiliary engines, and all associated mechanical equipment.

  • Diagnose faults and perform repair, overhaul, and preventive maintenance of engines, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic systems, and other vessel machinery.

  • Provide hands-on technical support for propulsion systems, anchoring arrangements, and other critical mechanical components to ensure uninterrupted vessel operations.

  • Supervise and monitor preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities while maintaining accurate maintenance records and service reports.

  • Conduct regular vessel inspections and quarterly ship visits to assess the condition and performance of engines, machinery, and hydraulic systems.

  • Coordinate with the Master, Chief Engineer, and vessel crew to ensure timely maintenance, effective troubleshooting, and safe vessel operations.

  • Visit vessels during docking to inspect machinery, assess repair requirements, prepare material requisitions, and oversee technical maintenance work.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, marine safety standards, and engineering best practices, and perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Ship Maintenance.
