Educational Requirements:
∎ LLB/LLM degree from any reputed institution.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To interview the clients and record their applications.
∎ Take necessary measures against received applications seeking legal aid.
∎ Conduct Legal awareness sessions among RMG workers organized by the Paralegal through Self-help groups in the worker's community.
∎ Reply to queries of clients received through the ‘Sromik Jigyasha’ app.
∎ To conduct mediation meetings as and when necessary.
∎ Visit the field/office twice a week and provide advice to the workers.
∎ Appear before the court as required, particularly in Labour cases.
∎ Conduct Legal aid Clinics/Camps in the Factory areas.
∎ To check and maintain files, registers, and case diaries regarding cases as per guidelines.
∎ Input updates of mediation and litigation in the case management system and register.
∎ Scrutinize the case paper and analyze the merit of the case as per the guideline.
∎ Issue letters regarding the cases to the panel lawyers.
∎ Prepare and examine the legal service bill as per guidelines.
∎ Maintain regular contact with beneficiaries.
∎ Maintain records of engaged panel lawyers.
∎ Prepare monthly/quarterly/half-yearly/yearly legal statements/reports regarding applications received, mediation, litigation, and case studies as per guidelines,
∎ Conduct/organize/attend meetings, workshops, seminars, and training courses.
∎ Follow instructions of the line management.
∎ Perform all other duties as and when required by the authority.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Enrolled with Bangladesh Bar Council as an Advocate including at least 3 years of practical experience in respective local courts.
∎ Working with the NGO sector is preferable.
∎ Commitment to public interest advocacy.
∎ Commitment to handle BLAST's cases.
∎ Sound managerial skills.
∎ Ability to work under pressure in a team.
∎ Good writing, speaking, and research skills in both Bangla and English.
