Minimum 2 Years working Experience in Same or Similar Position of community nutrition programme in Emergency/Host community settings in NGO/INGO excluding volunteering/internship.
Technical knowledge on Community management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) & IMCN programme
Ability to work flexibly including weekends and willingness to travel and work in rural locations and live in basic conditions.
Demonstrated ability to think and manage strategically, plan and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory role to lead a large field team.
Demonstrated experience in management & analysis of large-scale database.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal as well as Bangla.
Proficient knowledge of standard computer software is desirable.
Pro- active with an ability to think analytically & results oriented.
Ability to problem solving and good decision-making skills & Strong team player.
Ability to work in challenging environments.
Hands on experience in using advanced Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word and analytical tools/software i.e., SPSS, EPI info, Epi Data entry package and ENA for SMART software etc.
Demonstrated experience at using digital platform for data collection i.e., ODK/KOBO/ONA and online data visualization tools.

Program Overview
As SHED started its initial operation for providing basic health and nutrition support to disadvantaged poor people of Teknaf in 1989, the organization gained high level expertise in Health and Nutrition sector by implementing huge number of projects in the last 31 years of partnership with government, and different International and National NGOs. SHED has proven its capacity in managing health facilities with adequate technical expertise, such as qualified Nutritionist, Doctors, Nurse, Counselors and Paramedics with very efficient managerial capacity both for program and supplies. Presently SHED is serving curative and preventing services in the host communities (Ukhiya, Teknaf & Kutubdia Upazila) and camp set up (Rohingya refugees) to prevent malnutrition in children, pregnant women, lactating women, and adolescents.
Moreover, as a Cox’s Bazar based national NGO, SHED has been supporting different UN agencies – such as UNICEF, WFP and IOM and different international organizations – such as ACF, Solidarity International, Handicap International in implementing a different project for assuring food security, livelihoods, health services, maternal and child nutrition, water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) support, and enhancing resilience and reduce the vulnerability of both refugees and host community people since the influx of Rohingya refugees in the area on August 2017. At present, SHED is providing humanitarian support to 335,540 local people of Cox’s Bazar and 224,234 Rohingya refugees in partnership with different UN agencies and international organizations.
The Improving Maternal and Child Nutrition (IMCN) Program is being implemented successfully in both UKHIYA & TEKNAF upazilas from 2012 and KUTUBDIA upazila from 2021 to 2026 under Cox’s Bazar District by Society for Health Extension and Development (SHED) with the technical and financial aids provided from UNWFP. Our project goal is to alleviate the malnutrition rate of HOST COMMUNITY along with improving nutritional status specially in FDMN affected UKHIA,TEKNAF and in KUTUBDIA UPAZILA under the Cox’s Bazar district where SHED provide Nutrition Specific and Sensitive Services maintaining UNWFP core mandates such as Saving Lives, Assets Preservation and Gender.
Responsibility 1 :
- Comprehensive Knowledge about the Program Activities
- Ensure proper Implementation of Improving Maternal and Child Nutrition (IMCN) Activities in Field Level maintaining National CMAM Guideline.
- Possess a Comprehensive Idea about Improving Maternal and Child Nutrition Program (IMCN).
- Generate good idea about Community Based Growth Monitoring procedure as well as promotion.
- Generate a detail idea about the standard operational procedure (SOP) of Courtyard Session, Mother to Mother Support Group and other SBCC Activities initiated by the Program.
- Advance knowledge about Infant and young Child Feeding (IYCF) National Guideline & Strategic Papers.
- Should have good idea about the results of recent surveys such as SMART, IYCF, SQUEAC, SENS etc.
- Detail Idea about all the field level and donor level reporting formats generated for extracting qualitative and quantitative data.
Responsibilities 2 : Technical Responsibilities for Program implementation:
- Supervise and support CNVs to undertake clinical and physical examination of all children referred to the CMAM program correctly maintaining the quality.
- Ensure that all the phases-admission and discharge criteria are followed, and program staff understand and can implement the protocol accurately.
- In collaboration with CNVs, Logistic Assistant and Coordinator, ensure all necessary supplies (Food and non-food items) are requested on time.
- Support with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare staffs to ensure that there is high standard of hygiene sanitation maintenance in the Community Clinic and Family welfare centres.
- Regular monitoring and follow up of health and nutrition sessions in collaboration with Community Health Care Provider & Ensure the quality of each session is satisfactory.
- Lead the setting up and smooth operation of MAM management programme in Community Clinic as well as Family Welfare Centres.
- Prepare an effective distribution plan for the union and execute.
- Investigate the cause of non-responding and refer children to UHC in collaboration with UHC/CC/FWC staffs.
- Regular cross check and update CC level food stock and ensure appropriate documentation is maintaining.
- Ensure proper documentation and regular update of all documents and relevant information of the targeted group according to donors’ requirement.
- Check that all messages to caregivers, community groups, leaders and authorities are consistent and fully understood.
- Cross check all the registers maintained by CNVs for the accuracy and proper quality tracking.
- Ensure CNVs contains that idea about what they are saying for sensitizing caregivers and have a fully understandable knowledge about every IEC they use or demonstrate.
- Ensure proper Utilization of resources and accountability to the program.
2. Outreach Monitoring Activity:
- Ensure that CNVs are working according to their targeted action plan and monitor their accountability and commitment to their work.
- Supervise CNVs to find out the gaps in field level screening, active case finding, courtyard session, GMP, Home visit and other SBCC related activities in regular basis.
- Allocate CNVs in the field based on Cluster and need.
- Facilitate information and lession sharing with other partners and agencies at union level.
2.A. Courtyard Session:
- Monitor and supervise technical areas where CNVs need to Ensure Courtyard Session is happening maintaining the standard procedure.
- Provide regular update and cross check that the quantity and quality of courtyard session is satisfactorily balanced in every cluster.
- Ensure that the target of courtyard session is achieved, if there have gaps, plan appropriate strategy to regain the balance.
- Ensuring the capacity of every CNV in conducting sessions using prescribed tools.
- Validate the documentation needed in courtyard session.
- 2.B. Screening, Follow up, Referral and GMP:
- Ensure that all the supplies of related to Community screening, referral, home visit, GMP are in hand of every CNV.
- Regularly monitor field level activities of CNVs. Ensure MUAC is taking maintaining appropriate method.
- Plan for Mass screening where it is needed.
- Analyse technical error and gaps of CNVs and provide inputs to enhance their knowledge.
- Ensure 100% Screening, GMP and proper active case finding in the field level.
2.C. SBCC:
- Take regular update from CNVs on Proper conduction of Mother-to-Mother Support Group activities in the field level according to the micro plan.
- Assist CNVs to lead Male forum activities and appropriate quality and documentation providing technical expertise.
- Guide CNVs for appropriate Nutrition session to improve the food habit and awareness on malnutrition.
- Guide CNVs to Plan and organize MTM Meeting, Male Forum, Supplementary and Complementary Cooking Demonstration as well as model mother review meeting in the community level.
Responsibilities 3 :
- Reporting preparation and Knowledge management
- Prepare target-oriented action plan based on the daily activity plan prepared by CNVs.
- Extract Daily/Weekly/Monthly report from CNVs, Check and submit to the respective UNC.
- Assist UNC in providing Union wise requisition preparation (IEC, Printing Items, Food, Oil, Container, Visibility, and others).
- Assist UNC and Meal Officer to submit monthly/weekly statistical reports, GMP reports, SBCC reports and other reports maintaining accuracy of baseline documents
Responsibilities 4 :
- Capacity building and Coordination
- Supervise the Activity of CNVs and capacitate CNV with providing proper support and resources who need.
- Plan and provide routine on job training to CNVs under proper guidance of UNS and UNC.
- Coordinate with UNC to ensure proper Assessment, registration, distribution protocol, quality of cooking demonstration, quality of Sessions, IYCF messaging as well as community outreach and mobilization, health education and treatment are undertaken as per the guideline.
- Maintain a Good coordination with CHCP, CCMG, IMAM, Teacher, Chairman, Member and other local level stakeholder to disseminate program interest and improve their knowledge to recognize cause, effect and signs of malnutrition.
- Attend on Upazila level coordination meeting to disseminate our program objectives. Sensitize and facilitate the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare staffs and community stakeholders to understand the importance of program and to improve their ability to recognize cause and signs of malnutrition, provide appropriate education to target group and community to help mitigate malnutrition and refer individual as appropriate.

- Adhere to and support organizational policies and donor compliances
