Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, Commerce, or a relevant discipline.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, sales, outlet management, handicraft promotion, or related fields. Experience working with handicrafts, SME development, social enterprises, or NGO projects will be an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong communication and negotiation skills. Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques.·
Ability to manage outlets and customer relationships.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.·
Experience in social media and online product promotion is desirable.·
Strong organizational and reporting skills.·
Ability to work independently and meet targets.
Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites application for the position of ‘‘Marketing and Outlet Operation Officer’’ from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing ‘‘The Blue Economy and Inclusive Development for Climate Justice (BID4CJ) project funded by OXFAM.
Job Purpose:
The Marketing and Outlet Officer will be responsible for promoting and marketing handicraft products, managing sales outlets, strengthening market linkages, coordinating product displays, and supporting business development initiatives to increase sales and market visibility of beneficiary-produced handicraft products.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing and Promotion
· Develop and implement marketing strategies for handicraft products.
· Promote products through physical outlets, exhibitions, fairs, and online platforms.
· Conduct market assessments and identify new business opportunities.
· Build relationships with buyers, retailers, wholesalers, and corporate clients.
· Support branding, packaging, and promotional activities of handicraft products.
Outlet Management
· Manage daily operations of the outlet/showroom.
· Ensure attractive product display and proper stock arrangement.
· Monitor inventory, sales records, and stock movement.
· Maintain product quality and customer satisfaction standards.
· Prepare regular sales and inventory reports.
Market Linkage and Business Development
· Establish and maintain relationships with national buyers and market actors.
· Facilitate participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, and promotional events.
· Identify potential markets and customers for handicraft products.
· Support development of sales agreements and business partnerships.
Customer Service
· Provide excellent customer service and product information.
· Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
· Maintain customer databases and follow-up communications.
Reporting and Documentation
· Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports.
· Maintain records of sales, customer visits, marketing activities, and market contacts.
· Submit reports and updates to the supervisor regularly.
Other Requirements
· Willingness to travel within Bangladesh when required.
· Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
· Commitment to promoting local handicraft products and supporting artisan livelihoods.
