Responsibilities & Context:
  • Merchandising Strategy Development: Design and execute merchandising strategies to meet business objectives such as sales growth, profitability, and market expansion.

  • Collaborate with design teams to create collections that align with market trends and customer preferences.

  • Oversee the entire order process, from initial inquiries to final delivery, ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Source reliable suppliers for raw materials, fabrics, trims, and accessories.

  • Negotiate costs, terms, and delivery timelines with vendors to achieve cost-efficiency.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery.

  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure the smooth flow of manufacturing processes.

  • Monitor production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders.

  • Oversee quality assurance processes to meet customer expectations and compliance standards.

  • Ensure the availability of raw materials and trims as per production requirements.

  • Coordinate with logistics teams for the timely shipment of goods, adhering to deadlines and export/import regulations.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for buyers, addressing their needs, queries, and feedback.

  • Oversee the development and approval of samples to meet buyer specifications.

  • Discuss and finalize order quantities, pricing, and delivery terms with buyers.

  • Lead and manage the merchandising team, ensuring high performance and efficiency.

  • Work closely with design, production, marketing, and finance teams to align operations with business goals.

  • Provide training to team members to enhance their skills and keep them updated on industry trends.

  • Monitor the sales performance of garments to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Track key performance indicators like lead times, delivery rates, and order accuracy.

  • Maintain control over budgets, ensuring profitability and cost-efficiency.

  • Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, labor laws, and ethical standards.

  • Promote eco-friendly practices in sourcing and production processes.

  • Expertise in garment manufacturing and merchandising processes.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in inventory and supply chain management tools.

  • Knowledge of global fashion trends and customer behavior.

  • Attention to detail and a focus on quality and compliance.
