• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly cutting schedules based on production requirements and priorities.

• Coordinate with the merchandising, pattern-making, and sewing departments to ensure a smooth workflow.

• Allocate resources (manpower, machinery, materials) for timely execution.

• Ensure proper inspection of fabrics for defects and color shading before cutting.

• Verify fabric consumption and ensure minimal wastage during the cutting process.

• Monitor fabric relaxation processes to ensure fabric stability.

• Oversee fabric spreading, marking, and cutting operations.

• Ensure accurate execution of the cutting plan based on patterns and specifications.

• Implement proper marker making to optimize fabric usage.

• Maintain strict quality checks during fabric cutting to avoid defects or size mismatches.

• Address quality issues promptly to prevent delays in subsequent processes.

• Implement SOPs to minimize errors in cutting.

• Supervise cutting staff, including operators, helpers, and quality checkers.

• Provide training and guidance to improve productivity and efficiency.

• Address workforce grievances and maintain discipline within the team.

• Monitor the proper functioning of cutting machines, spreading tables, and other equipment.

• Schedule regular maintenance to prevent machine breakdowns.

• Ensure operators are skilled in handling cutting equipment safely.

• Maintain records of fabric consumption, cutting outputs, and wastage.

• Prepare reports on cutting performance, quality issues, and progress.

• Share updates with production and management teams.

• Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines in the cutting department.

• Comply with company policies, industry standards, and customer requirements.

• Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, especially cutting techniques.

• Proficiency in marker making, fabric spreading, and cutting equipment operation.

• Problem-solving skills to address technical and quality challenges.

• Leadership abilities to manage teams effectively.

• Knowledge of fabric types, shrinkage, and other properties that affect cutting.
