• Strong knowledge of Bangladesh Labor Laws, Factory Act, Fire Safety Regulations, and Environment-related regulations.

• Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, investigations, and audits.

• Being knowledgeable in ISO 45001 and social compliance (BSCI, SEDEX etc.) internal and external audits.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to build relationships with government authorities and external agencies.

Role Summary:

The Specialist – Health & Safety (H&S) will be responsible for managing and overseeing the entire Health & Safety function for Singer Bangladesh, covering all company facilities including the manufacturing plant, retail showrooms, area offices, warehouses, and service centers. This role will ensure compliance with local laws and regulations while aligning with global H&S standards and HQ guidelines. The Specialist will play a critical role in fostering a zero-incident mindset, ensuring business continuity, and creating a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, and visitors.

Job Responsible:

• Conduct hazard identification and risk evaluations across all business units, plants, warehouses, retail, and service facilities.

• Following up the non conformity findings (audit, risk evaluation etc.)

• Ensure compliance with local legislation, government regulations, and global H&S standards issued by HQ.

• Develop, implement, and monitor H&S policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring continuous improvement.

• Drive a zero-incident mindset by fostering a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

• Inspect workplaces, machinery, equipment, process safety and safety devices to verify compliance with H&S requirements.

• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and oversee corrective/preventive actions to closure and report to HQ.

• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting (incidents, inspections, audits, KPIs) and submit updates to the global H&S team.

• Coordinate and support internal and external H&S audits such as ISO and social compliance with government agencies, regulatory bodies, global teams and between departments.

• Develop and deliver H&S training and awareness programs (including toolbox talks and emergency drills) for employees, contractors, and partners.

• Lead Safety Committee meetings, track action items, and ensure timely implementation of agreed measures.

• Develop, update, and implement emergency response and crisis management plans (fire, disaster, explosion, etc.).

• Conduct emergency drills and evaluate effectiveness, ensuring readiness of people and systems.

• Ensure availability and proper functioning of safety equipment (PPE, alarms, extinguishers, emergency systems).

• Communicate and cascade H&S policies, standards, and best practices across all functions and business units.

• Collaborate with global H&S counterparts to ensure alignment of local practices with international benchmarks.
