Responsibilities & Context:

Special Teaching & Inclusive Classroom Support

  • Deliver structured and adaptive teaching to children with Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and developmental delays in inclusive and special learning environments.

  • Develop, implement, prepare and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with caregivers and multidisciplinary team.

  • Support children’s participation in special classrooms alongside typically developing peers.

  • Deliver lesson plans, teaching strategies, and assessment tools to meet diverse learning needs.

  • Use visual supports, sensory adaptations, structured routines, and behavior support plans appropriate for Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome and ID.

Communication, Behavior & Life Skills Development

  • Support development of communication skills (verbal, non-verbal where applicable).

  • Implement positive behavior support strategies and promote emotional regulation.

  • Teach daily living, self-care, and social skills to improve independence and school readiness.

Collaboration with Schools & Caregivers

  • Work closely with special school teachers, school management, and classroom assistants to ensure reasonable accommodation for children with disabilities.

  • Provide guidance and coaching to mainstream teachers on inclusive practices and classroom adaptation.

  • Engage caregivers through regular meetings, counseling, and home-based learning guidance.

Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain child profiles, IEPs, progress tracking tools, and attendance records.

  • Conduct baseline, midline, and end-line assessments of learning and functional outcomes.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly progress and case reports for management and donors.

Safeguarding & Child Protection

  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly environment at all times.

  • Promote dignity, non-discrimination, and gender-sensitive approaches.
