Responsibilities & Context:
  • Oversee and manage overall shipyard operations, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day activities.

  • Lead and supervise Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, Operations, Store, HR, and Accounts coordination within the shipyard.

  • Plan, execute, and monitor ship repair, maintenance, docking, fabrication, and conversion works in compliance with technical standards.

  • Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of machinery, equipment, electrical systems, and yard facilities.

  • Coordinate with Marine Engineers, Workshop Foremen, Supervisors, and Contractors to meet project timelines and quality benchmarks.

  • Control and monitor inventory, spare parts, tools, consumables, and store management systems to avoid shortages or wastage.

  • Ensure compliance with HSE, maritime regulations, yard safety policies, and statutory requirements at all times.

  • Liaise with HR & Admin regarding manpower planning, attendance, discipline, performance monitoring, and training needs.

  • Coordinate with Accounts & Finance for cost control, budget monitoring, purchase requisitions, vendor bills, and project costing.

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational, technical, and progress reports to management.

  • Identify operational risks, implement improvements, and ensure continuous productivity and efficiency enhancement.
