Job Context:
∎ BLAST is a leading national legal aid and human rights organization providing legal advice, mediation, and litigation services, and undertaking advocacy to ensure the rights of women, men and children living in poverty or facing discrimination/social exclusion. BLAST works through its Head Office in Dhaka and 25 District-level Offices with 2600+ panel lawyers and 100+partner organizations.
∎ Position Description: BLAST is looking for a Senior Training Officer for its Legal Empowerment and Gender Diversity (LEGD) project. The Senior Training Officer (LEGD Project) must be a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of work on LEGD project management and donor reporting, and will coordinate and lead the project activities. The Senior Training Officer (LEGD Project) will help facilitate BLAST`s efforts to implement law and policy reform to eliminate gender discriminatory provisions and practices that hinder access to justice for LEGD victims in Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Identify training and development needs within organisation through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with human resources departments;
∎ Design and expand training and development programmes based on the needs of the organisation and the individual;
∎ Consider the costs of planned programmes and keep within budgets;
∎ Evaluate effectiveness of the competence of instruction, the content of training and training materials used.
∎ Develop effective induction programmes for new staff as well.
∎ Keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals/gazettes/literatures, going to meetings and attending relevant courses..
∎ Develop training schedules, plans, budget, materials, tools, guidelines and modules.
∎ Communicate with training participants.
∎ Design and facilitate training, workshop and seminar as per projects and organisational need.
∎ Assist Training Coordinator in coordination with technical resource persons.
∎ Assist the Training Coordinator in preparing reports.
∎ Maintain and preserve all training related documents.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Prepare training and development needs of gender diverse community peoples.
∎ Identify paralegals, fellow from the gender diverse community members and enhance their legal empowerment through training.
∎ Develop follow up mechanism to track the performance of paralegals.
∎ Accomplish reports of all kind of activities.
∎ Preserve all documents (i.e. cases, success stories, performance records, participants list) relating with gender diverse community properly.
Salary:
∎ Negotiable
∎ Costs in relation to any field work will be borne by the organization.
