Responsibilities & Context:
Reporting directly to Tchibo headquarters in Germany and based in our Liaison Office in Dhaka, Bangladesh, you will play a strategic role in shaping and advancing the Tchibo human rights strategy and sustainability agenda across South Asia. As a senior member of the international Corporate Responsibility team, you will co-manage the Tchibo flagship human rights program - WE Program - ensuring it remains cutting‑edge, scalable across suppliers and brands, and effective at improving factory human‑rights conditions through strengthened management‑worker dialogue and amplified worker voice. You will serve as a core member of our multi‑channel grievance mechanism team, responsible for receiving, investigating, resolving and documenting complaints in a timely and effective manner. You will lead stakeholder engagement in South Asia and beyond to build constructive relationships with unions, worker organisations and employer bodies, and to influence key partners including NGOs, multi‑stakeholder initiatives and peer brands, representing Tchibo in high‑level forums as required. Finally, you will work closely with sourcing colleagues and support business partners to embed sustainability in business decisions for continuous improvement across the supply chain.
• 7–10 years’ professional experience in the field of social sustainability and human rights
• Ability to engage on par with factory managers, workers and (critical) stakeholders
• Demonstrable track record managing worker engagement programs, ideally in an international setting
• Proven experience working with trade unions, worker organizations and facilitating social dialogue/collective bargaining processes
• Hands‑on experience designing, operating and improving multi‑channel grievance mechanisms and related case management processes is desirable
• Familiarity with key industry frameworks and initiatives (e.g. Accord, ACT, ILO conventions) and factory monitoring approaches is desirable
• Team player with good communication and program management skills
• Good Bangla and English knowledge required; knowledge of another language spoken in South Asia preferred
• Flexibility to travel locally and internationally
