Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Facilitate business development training and need assessment.
∎ Provide hands-on support to beneficiary on business selection and implementation.
∎ Provide guidance and build staff capacity on business selection and implementation.
∎ Module development on entrepreneurship development, business selection and business planning (EDT)
∎ Provide capacity-building training on Entrepreneurship development business selection and business planning (EDT) for beneficiaries.
∎ Provide hands-on support to beneficiary to select profitable and suitable group business.
∎ Provide intensive support and guide beneficiary on successful IGA implementation (IIGA/GIGA).
∎ Review business plan and endorsement.
∎ Monitor effective implementation of project activities through regular field visits.
∎ Assess the scope and barrier of market linkage.
∎ Make functional links with different layer market actors.
∎ Identify potential service providers, input/output market actors, project partners, and producers (households) and develop strategies for developing linkage among them.
∎ Develop technical partnerships with relevant GoB extensions.
∎ Provide Backward and forward linkage support with business entities.
∎ Provide IGA skills development training on selected businesses for technical issues, startup and management.
∎ Creating new linkages and strengthening existing linkages with local higher-value markets for the beneficiaries.
∎ Provide support to program Manager financial behavioral change package development and design capacity-building planning.
∎ Assist training on market development and technology.
∎ Promote group-based production, aggregation and collective action for marketing of products.
∎ Develop beneficiary’s IGA database and update regular basis.
∎ Collect IGA incident report and prepare monthly incident reports.
∎ Collect income-expenditure information and prepare monthly reports.
∎ Assess business development progress in regular basis Submission of monthly ’Progress Monitoring’ sheet to supervisor.
∎ Attend relevant stakeholders’ meetings, personal capacity building events in the form of training, cross-visits, etc. Address ad-hoc information requirements.
∎ Follow-up market relations and leadership capacities.
∎ Carry out regular monitoring and follow-up of enterprise and business to make it profitable.
∎ Make functional collaboration with other managerial staffs for the betterment of project.
∎ Develop and maintain working relationships with concerned departments, agencies, market actors, different associations, partners and stakeholders.
∎ Organize discussion meetings and workshops with them.
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
∎ The Senior Project Officer, Business Development will provide comprehensive technical support for creating an enabling environment for entrepreneurship and business development following market-driven approach, for the population identified as the most vulnerable in the targeted communities. The role emphasizes fostering continuous coordination and collaboration with the field team to ensure profitable GIGA, IIGA from planning to harvesting the production.
