Job Responsibilities:
∎ General Functions:
∎ Under the general supervision of the Programme Officer (MHPSS) and the direct supervision of MHPSS Officer (Community Based) the incumbent will be required to work as a member of the department's program staff towards the successful implementation of the department's related projects in Cox's Bazar. The incumbent will be based in the IOM Sub Office located in Cox's Bazar, with frequent travels to the field in Ukhiya and Teknaf. In particular, the incumbent will:
∎ Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
∎ 1. Contribute in the development of the IOM strategy in Cox's Bazar for provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services for all levels of the MHPSS pyramid of intervention as per IASC guidelines, using the community-based approach in MHPSS.
∎ 2. Coordinate, monitor and provide supervision to PSS mobile teams. This includes monitoring activities, organizing team meetings, addressing gaps and providing overall support.
∎ 3. Liaise and provide support to the field-based Project Assistants, with regards to designing relevant activities, monitoring their implementation, evaluation the interventions and ensuring the smooth flow of reporting mechanisms
∎ 4. Provide guidance to the mobile teams to plan and implement community based MHPSS activities
∎ 5. Contribute to the strengthening of relevant MHPSS referral pathways and networks in Cox's Bazar, customize them to the local context and disseminate the information for partners on the modalities of referral and methodologies
∎ 6. Provide administrative support to MHPSS component to ensure logistics and procedures to deliver services in the areas of intervention
∎ 7. Contribute to the design and implementation of a comprehensive evaluation system regarding all field based activities to measure the impact for the affected communities
∎ 8. Assist in the identification of gaps and opportunities for MHPSS and assist in the development of interventions addressing the identified needs
∎ 9. Provide regular reports to the MHPSS management on activities to date and indicators achieved in line with the Monitoring and Evaluation tools developed.
∎ 10. Support the implementation of relevant trainings for the PSS mobile teams, humanitarian actors, key community members and others if required
∎ 11. Ensure maintenance of confidential documentation and records of all psychosocial activities implemented.
∎ 12. Collaborate with other agencies on the ground and participate in meetings on behalf of IOM and in the interest of the beneficiaries.
∎ 13. Coordinate safe custody of IOM items and equipment on the ground including maintaining an up to date inventory
∎ 14. To proactively conduct updated assessments and analyses the context and propose interventions to enable expansion of both IOM geographic coverage to the host community in Ukhiya and Teknaf and thematic coverage within the camp sides
∎ 15. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Professional chartered status in psychology, counselling and/or social work an advantage.
∎ Experience in providing coordination supervision, coaching, and mentoring to national staff and non-specialists
∎ Experience in providing services to displaced populations, migrants, refugees or conflict affected populations
∎ Experience in managing and following up on larger teams in the field
∎ Experience and knowledge of UN and international agencies structures
∎ Experience in capacity building activities and curriculum development is an advantage
∎ Operational and field experience in health-related issues of migrated and/or displaced persons, programme development, migration health, including conceptualization, analysis and implementation of programme, international public health and resource mobilization
∎ Previous experience in international organization is an advantage
∎ Skill in strengthening service delivery programs, performance and quality improvement and monitoring and evaluation
∎ Skills in identifying problems and presenting possible solutions to colleagues while taking into account cultural sensitivities
∎ Strong oral and written communication and presentations skills in English
∎ Ability to travel up to 90% time
