Responsibilities & Context:

We are expending our Merchandising Team and looking for a dynamic, energetic and organized Senior Merchandiser for our Merchandising & Marketing Department.

  • Analyse market trends and buyer preferences to improve product offerings.

  • Handle Product development, costing, price negotiation with the objective of securing most competitive costs for the buyer

  • Collaborate with buyers, suppliers & merchandising teams to negotiate prices, lead-times and delivery dates

  • Be responsible for all sampling approval process and ensure timely submission and approval of samples. Be actively involved with the factory and the buyer in resolving sample related issues.

  • Be fully responsible to strictly implement and adhere to the critical path /T&A (WIP) on a daily basis. Identify potential delays well in advance and implement timely action to ensure on time delivery. This is a key responsibility of the Senior Merchandiser.

  • Effectively handle and manage the fabric and trim approval process and bulk in house dates and garment production schedule by using all available monitoring tools and data.

  • Work professionally with buyers and their local offices to schedule quality inspections and compliance audits while building a healthy working relationship with all teams.

  • Build buyer confidence by consistently meeting key expectations of the buyer through effective communication, timely action and execution across every stage of the order management process.

  • Train and develop team members at every given opportunity and be prepared to take up additional responsibility when entrusted by the management

  • Expertise in "cost to make" and diligent completion of cost sheets; leveraging component dynamics to obtain best price for customers; ensuring CMs and consumption are both reflective of product type.

  • Ensuring suitable capacity is booked and the production plan is in place to achieve delivery; ensure PPM includes a full understanding of technical standards, that materials and trims are ready, and Technical Risk Assessment has been completed

  • Monitoring production allocated to our factories and closely managing the critical path and the achievement of milestones (approvals, testing, fabric in house, inspection); coordinating activity with Fabric, Technical and QA to ensure OTD and resolving any issue at pace

  • Ensure trims are sourced from nominated sources where they exist; ensuring trim costs are benchmarked.

  • Letters of Credit - Monitoring the opening of B2B LCS by the factory and following up with shipping documents and liaising with the bank; mark pro-forma invoice for obtaining the master LC and maintain records of export and order quantities for every order

  • Ensure our factories have made bookings in line with our customers' forwarders SLAs. Ensure container status and vessel schedule are on track and ensure timely collection of shipping documents.

  • Maintain an accurate and timely report of on time booking and on time delivery.

  • Track running capacity in my factories and book accordingly; we negotiate lead times with our suppliers on a season to season basis and aim to reduce RO lead times for our customers.

  • Prepare initial pricing in Internal costing tool/ERP

  • Prepare pre-costing in ERP, including accessories pricing and consumption details

  • Generate price quotations in ERP
