∎ BLAST is a leading national legal aid and human rights organization in Bangladesh providing legal advice, mediation, and litigation services, and undertaking advocacy to ensure the rights of women, men, and children living in poverty or facing discrimination/social exclusion throughout the country. BLAST works through its Head Office in Dhaka and several District-level Offices with a network of panel lawyers and partner organizations.
∎ Position Description: BLAST is looking for a Research Assistant for project, "Strengthening Capacity of Gender Diverse Community to Protect Their Rights"(SCG). The Research Assistant must be a highly motivated individual with a track record of working on research projects and reporting on project activities. The Research Assistant will assist BLAST in its efforts to improve avenues for gender diverse communities to advocate for inclusive policies and practices towards gender diverse individuals through collective activities in Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Collect and review literature.
∎ Contribute in tool development and collect quantitative and qualitative data.
∎ Conduct survey, interview and focused group discussion for collecting data.
∎ Prepare meeting reports of research dissemination webinars and meetings, and prepare interview transcripts.
∎ Report to supervisor and ensuring proper documentation.
∎ Coordinate and liaison with relevant stakeholders
∎ Participate in written and revising reports based on study findings.
∎ Field visit outside Dhaka, if required.
∎ Any other assignments or duties related to BLAST's research.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
∎ 1-2 years of relevant work experience in research is preferable.
∎ Freshers with excellent analytical skills and publication are also encouraged to apply.
∎ Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills both in English and Bangla.
∎ Good knowledge on gender, gender diversity and gender diverse communities.
∎ Working experience & networks with the gender diverse communities (including Hijra, transgender and intersex communities) will give preference.
∎ Computer skills: Proficient in the standard MS Office products (Word, Excel & PowerPoint).

Salary: Tk. 20000 - 25000 (Monthly)
