Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under overall supervision of the Head of the Protection Unit / Protection Coordinator, and under the direct supervision and guidance of the Protection Officer and in close coordination with the GBV, Counter-Trafficking (CT), and Child Protection subunits, the successful candidate will coordinate Protection field teams and activities - namely Community-Based Protection, Protection Monitoring, Protection Mainstreaming, Identification and Assistance to Extremely Vulnerable Individuals (EVIs and Case Management Services, as well as reporting and administration - as part of IOM Protection in Ukhia and/or Teknaf sub-districts.
∎ The incumbent will be requested to perform the following tasks as the Protection Field Coordinator:
∎ 1. Coordinate the daily activities of the protection field teams in the camps by, for example, organizing and assisting the teams in achieving their tasks; representing IOM Protection at camp-level meetings and events; collaborating with IOM staff and external partners on protection matters, and promoting and applying global protection and IOM standards and procedures.
∎ 2. Support the protection field team's effort to strengthen internal capacity by reinforcing Protection techniques and standards and developing staff skills through training, coaching on operational matters, and assistance with human resources and administrative matters.
∎ 3. Assist in coordinating Protection Monitoring and project monitoring and evaluation activities in the camps, specifically supporting the field teams in conducting, e.g. Direct Observation (DO), risk mapping sessions, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) to collect data with informed-consent and ensure quality.
∎ 4. Contribute to Protection-related data collection, analysis, and reporting by collating data, developing and/or using IOM tracking tools, and drafting content in English (e.g. Protection Monitoring reports; IOM situational updates, factsheets and other tools, sector reports).
∎ 5. Support IOM's Protection Mainstreaming effort by collaborating with designated focal points in IOM and other sectors, conducting training on specific topics such as protection principles, PSEA, gender, and/or inclusion, providing technical guidance.
∎ 6. Assist the protection field team's delivery of case management services according to standard procedures and coordinating cases as necessary with relevant internal and external focal points.
∎ 7. Contribute to the implementation of community-based protection activities through community outreach efforts, information dissemination, referrals, capacitating community groups (youth, elderly, women/girls, block/camp governance structures, etc.) to enable them to better identify, mitigate and
∎ prevent protection risks and threats,
∎ 8. Contribute to the Protection Unit's project development and implementation efforts by proposing new
∎ operational activities, and drafting content for inclusion in proposals or reports.
∎ 9. Perform other tasks that may be assigned.

Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of 4 years-experience in the field of migration, IDP and refugee assistance and protection
∎ (including specific experience on Protection)
∎ Experience in emergency operations and liaison with other UN and non-UN humanitarian actors.
∎ Knowledge of the region and/or country an advantage
