Job Context:
∎ OKUP is a rights based migrant organization. OKUP promotes and protects human rights, labour rights, justice and dignity of all migrant workers irrespective of gender, across borders, through putting migrants` perspectives at the centre of migration discourse at all levels through unity and empowerment of migrant workers themselves.
∎ OKUP has recently secured funding for a 36-month project (Strengthened and Informative Migration Systems - SIMS), funded through Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation Bangladesh. The overall objective of this project is to promote migrants particularly marginalized men and women improve their well being due to safer migration practices and better migration governance. OKUP invites applications for the vacant positions of above-mentioned project.

∎ Job Description - Project Officer - Access to Justice
∎ Job Title : Project Officer- Access to Justice (1 position)
∎ Project/Program : OKUP - SIMS Project
∎ Probation Period : 3 months
∎ Job Type : Contractual - Initially for One Year. (Extendable based on performance and available fund)
∎ Reported to : District Manager and Program Coordinator
∎ Job Location: Narsingdi (Need to visit/stay Cumilla office minimum once in a week)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Overall implementation of the case management activities in line with project work plan and budget and in compliance with organizational and donor policies.
∎ Receive, analyze, refer, and follow up cases from the respective District
∎ Provide feedback to Community Mobilizer & Upazila Supervisor on Case Identification and update on the process to share with beneficiaries.
∎ Ensure documentation on cases including input in online database and undertake M&E functions as required
∎ Organize and facilitation of capacity building process of GMCs/TTCs.
∎ Regular Coordination and Collaboration with GMCs, TTCs, Focal Person of LANGO and other thematic relevant stakeholders.
∎ Contribute to different material and module development under the component.
∎ Co-facilitates relevant thematic (A2J) PEO sessions in collaboration with Upazila Supervisor
∎ Visit Upazila level activity regularly and assist Upazila Supervisor & Community Mobilizer for ensuring component wise inputs effectively and share all update to the senior management
∎ Ensure regular monthly report to the District Manager and keep close coordination with other PO,s, Upazila Supervisors and Community Mobilizers
∎ Establish and maintain professional relationship and collaboration with different government and non-government service provider organizations, migrant communities, and facilitate referrals of the migrant workers if needed
∎ Maintain regular communication and effective coordination and follow-up with LANGO, lawyers/ law firms, partners, law enforcing agencies etc.
∎ Prepare quarterly and annual narrative reports on the provided services in line with the project inputs, outputs and impacts
∎ Prepare success stories of individual case, lessons learned, and good practice bi-annual basis
∎ Ensure high standards in financial and logistics management to meet accountability and transparency
∎ Represent OKUP when and where necessary

Additional Requirements:
∎ Essential:
∎ Master's degree in Law and Justice, Criminal Science, Victimology and Restorative Justice and other related disciplines from any reputed university
∎ Demonstrated experiences of at least 3 years in legal practice in the court or as in similar case management position in any reputed NGO/ INGOs
∎ Excellent skills in providing explanation of legal provisions
∎ In-depth knowledge on arbitration system, judiciary system, court procedures, village court, legal aid committee etc.
∎ Good understanding of migrants rights and laws related to migrant workers in Bangladesh.
∎ Better analytical ability and communication skills
∎ Strong interpersonal skills in liaising, communicating and engaging with colleagues and external audiences
∎ Pro-activeness and leadership capacity, extrovert and ability to work with diverse team
∎ Excellent oral and written skills in English and Bangla
∎ Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
∎ Desirable:
∎ Experience in working on migration, anti-trafficking or modern slavery projects/programs.
∎ Experience in adaptive management
∎ Having valid driving license
∎ Competencies:

Salary:
∎ Gross 38,400/- per month
