∎ At least 10 years of experience, preferably in the environmental sector or waste management (with a focus on plastic waste management). Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
∎ Experience working with municipalities, city corporations, and national government agencies (e.g., DPHE, DoE, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change), as well as commercial companies, CBOs, and youth groups engaged in the waste and sanitation value chain.
∎ Strong skills in facilitation, coordination, team management, reporting, and presentations.
∎ Proven ability to lead and work within a multicultural team while meeting deadlines.
∎ Fluency in English and proficiency in computer applications.
∎ Excellent English writing, analytical, and communication skills.
∎ Strong ability to work effectively with a virtual cross-functional team.
∎ Willingness and ability to travel independently outside the duty station.
∎ Demonstrated experience in project budget management.
∎ Sound understanding of project management principles
∎ Strong operations management skills, especially in contract and award administration.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Contracts and Awards Management
∎ Serve as an Operations Manager to facilitate the effective delivery of contracts and awards, ensuring outcomes are met while maintaining compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
∎ Facilitate the development of work plans, including procurement, partnerships, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) plans.
∎ Guide and monitor project team activities and partner engagements to ensure compliance with contract terms, agreements, and organizational policies and procedures.
∎ Build and maintain relationships with municipalities, key committees and departments, private companies, NGOs, cooperatives, and national-level actors.
∎ Review and respond to performance reports from implementing partners to ensure value for money, impact, and sustainability.
∎ Ensure the project adheres to environmental compliance standards and that findings from Environmental Assessments are shared and utilized.
∎ Private Sector Engagement
∎ Provide technical expertise and strategic recommendations to increase private sector involvement in the plastic value chain.
∎ Identify and facilitate collaborative opportunities with private sector stakeholders, including corporate social responsibility (CSR) opportunities in plastic recycling and marine littering.
∎ Stay updated on the latest technologies, innovations, and developments in Bangladesh and globally to leverage public-private partnership opportunities, including those related to marine conservation.
∎ Technical Programme and Support
∎ Engage with key stakeholders, including the marine biodiversity conservation partner, to assess plastic pollution and its impact on the marine ecosystem and biodiversity in Bangladesh.
∎ Provide technical, programmatic, and managerial support, in coordination with the partner.
∎ Conduct research and analyze trends, key issues, and opportunities related to ocean pollution and marine biodiversity conservation.
∎ Participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences organized by the Government of Bangladesh, donors, and international development organizations, sharing insights from grassroots experiences
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
∎ JOB PURPOSE:
