Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Overall responsibilities will be to improve community-based agricultural infrastructure such as Aggregation centre, path ways, irrigation channel and pond excavation in Kutubdia, Pekua and Moheshkhali sub-districts of Cox’s Bazar
∎ Provide engineering support applying with project management procedures, apply best practices, standards and innovative technologies that comply with BRAC and Donor standards and processes
∎ Undertake concept, preliminary or detailed designs (including drawings, masterplans, design calculations, cost estimations, technical specifications, etc.)
∎ Assure the quality of the works during design and construction, continuously inspecting the materials, undertaking tests, and generally ensuring a high standard of workmanship and compliance with the specifications and relevant national/international design standards
∎ Establish QA/QC plan of the project and ensure QA/QC during implementation phase by involving in direct site supervision and works inspection
∎ Establish Health Safety and Environmental plan in accordance with BRAC and Donor’s guideline and/or other international standards
∎ Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations
∎ Ensure projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time
∎ Liaison with project stakeholders to confirm the status of project elements, determine their level of input to the project
∎ Take part in assessment of new scope of work
∎ Report key project progress with relevant project data
∎ Establish, develop, and manage the implementation team and perform their evaluation
∎ Prepare project handover documents including as-built drawings, as built BOQ including material and workforce records and ensure proper project close out
∎ Maintain effective communication with the project manager regarding the progress to ensure that challenges are considered and timely solved
∎ Ensure effective & efficient use of resources
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
∎ This position is responsible to plan, manage, implement, supervise, and monitor construction, repair and maintenance activities of Aggregation centre, path ways, irrigation channel and pond excavation. This position will also be responsible to work in collaboration and coordination with LGED and Upazila Administration Officers.
