Job Context:
∎ BLAST is a leading national legal aid and human rights organization providing legal advice, mediation, and litigation services, and undertaking advocacy to ensure the rights of women, men and children living in poverty or facing discrimination/social exclusion. BLAST works through its Head Office in Dhaka and 19 District-level Offices with 2500+ panel lawyers and 100+partner organizations.
∎ BLAST is looking for a Project Coordinator under the project CGV. The CGV project is focuses for on Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Domestic Violence (DV), fighting poverty, inequality and discrimination through provision of access to justice for marginalised people.
∎ Position Description: The position holder is responsible to provide guidance and advice on implementing the project activities. S/he ensures that project milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. S/he manages subordinate staffs in day-to-day performance of their jobs. S/he will ensure that the project implementation plans are developed and executed effectively and on time. S/he will ensure necessary support for team members so that project outputs/deliverables could be achieved on time. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring progress and quality monitoring systems for the project. Additionally, s/he will perform any other tasks as assigned by the management.
∎ Project Description: The project aims to combat the root causes of gender-based violence through primary prevention initiatives. The first stage will see the establishment of an Advisory Committee which will draw on the advice of experts and in-depth analysis of legal issues to inform legislative and policy advocacy issues. The second stage will create a coalition of CSOs, women`s rights groups and government bodies to facilitate discussion of gender-based violence and gender equality, to establish a shared knowledge base and to coordinate efforts by civil society.
∎ Job Location: Project Coordinator will be based in Dhaka (need to travel Comilla, Patuakhali and Bogra for field visit)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Ensure that programme activities are completed as per organizational plans and donor requirements;
∎ 2. Coordinate project activities relating to research, communications and advocacy meetings;
∎ 3. Prepare notes and take initiative for approval regarding different events, meetings and logistic support for the project operations
∎ 4. Organize, attend and conduct different project meetings, workshops, seminars, training as required; including correspondence with speakers, press and participants
∎ 5. Collect and maintain documentation regarding advocacy and research meetings, donor correspondence and all relevant materials related to the project
∎ 6. Assist to maintain internal and external communications, including with the member organisations of CIDV and RLR platform, consortium partners of the project, government ministries and agencies relating to project implementation and compliance issue i.e. DC certificate for NGOAB
∎ 7. Contribute to periodic project reports and event reports as required by assisting and follow up with advocacy and research focal of the project.
∎ 8. Ensure adequate systems are in place and followed, regarding program procurements, management and maintenance of project assets and also proper inventories;
∎ 9. Track performance against project timelines, budget, objectives and deliverable;
∎ 10. Ensure that lessons learned from this project are effectively documented and communicated
∎ 11. Manage and archive project files and other supporting materials securely and safely; 12. Perform any other duties as and when required by the management;

Additional Requirements:
∎ • Flexibility to handle varied and demanding tasks and ability to balance priorities
∎ Ability to work independently, as well as member of a team, and to be flexible to accommodate the needs of stakeholders.
∎ Ability to lead the assignment and the team with remote supervision.
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary: Tk. 45000 (Monthly)

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Weekly 2 holidays
∎ Costs for field work/visit will be borne by BLAST according to its policies.
